Dave Widow, guitarist, singer songwriter, is a native of Cincinnati,
Ohio, currently living in the Los Angeles area. He and his
band, "The Line Up", have appeared on a regular
basis at such venues as B.B. King's Blues Club, The Lighthouse,
and many others.
With his unique, unorthodox style of finger picking. Widow
brings a fresh approach to the blues, while remaining true
to the tradition of the genre. His musical style is influenced
by his relationship with many great blues and R&B talents,
including Buddy Miles, Bonnie Bramlett, Bill Champlain, Lonnie
Mack, and his mentor and collaborator (the late) Roger "Jellyroll"
Troy, bassist and vocalist for The Mike Bloomfield Band.
'The Line Up" consists of some of L.A.'s most noteworthy
musicians. The band includes Gary Mallaber, drummer on such
songs as Fly Like An Eagle, Moondance, Two Tickets To Paradise,
and many more. Teaming up with Gary, is bassist Reggie McBride,
who has played with B.B. King, Elton John, and Keb' Mo', just
to name a few. Together they are a formidable rhythm section,
and form the nucleus of the band.
Dave Widow and the Line Up are one of the hottest
blues, R&B acts on the West Coast. Their latest CD, "Got
It Covered" is a "must have" item in every
blues lovers' collection.
