Stan Ruffo was born and raised in Los Angeles,
CA. He took up the saxophone at age eleven and played harmonica
as well. Stan took advantage of every opportunity to play
music with other musicians and began playing professionally
in 1986, while living in Central California.
In 1992 he chose music as a full time occupation in 1992
and over the years since then, has made many TV appearances,
produced and hosted radio shows, shared his love of music
with state prison inmates, and performed at countless venues
throughout California, the Southwest and Southeastern United
States.
Stan Ruffo recorded the highly energetic CD, Live At The
Bastille in 1993 and his most recent recording, Blues On Tap
- Volume One was released in 1999.
His music has appeared on projects originating in Belgium,
and Germany, as well as Santa Cruz, CA. John Ussery's resent
release from Austin, TX, Cryin' And Screamin' features Stan's
harp on 7 of the 10 tracks, and Bob "Pacemaker"
Newham's CD, Tales From the Basin, includes Stan's harp and
sax on several tracks.
