MICHAEL, THE GREAT PRETENDER...
Born in Denver, Colorado, but raised in the San Francisco,
Bay Area, Michael started performing professionally 15 days
after he graduated from Santa Rosa High.
He opened his career with an Elvis tribute that quickly gained
notoriety throughout Northern California. Some years later
he added his Roy Orbison show and audiences all over loved
the dual tributes. The show, called the Fathers of Rock at
the time, was one of the few Elvis tribute shows to appear
at the Lake Tahoe Horizon's Grand Lake Theatre...the same
stage that Elvis and hundreds of other performers entertained.
After so many years, Michael decided to create a variety style
show that would feature musical tributes to other great stars.
While the idea of a multi-tribute show was not unique, the
fact that one person doing all the impersonations was. Not
only does Michael do full costumed performances of Elvis Presley
and Roy Orbison, he also entertains the audience with uncanny
vocal tributes to numerous artists.
On the side, he sometimes does voice-over work and sings
at different events. He sang the National Anthem at the Oakland
Coliseum for an A's vs Giants game. Michael has sold out shows
in Oregon, Nevada and California. He has performed for enthusiastic
audiences in Iowa, Arizona, Indiana and Idaho. He has been
featured on every major news program in Northern California,
as well as CNN. Considered a veteran in the industry, Michael
is professional, knows how to play to an audience, is good
with timing and respects his clients. You wont go wrong with
Michael, "The Great Pretender."
