The Shelltown Horns Band was formed in 1999, when four outstanding horn players pooled their talents to create a dynamic and powerful horn section. Two trumpet players, one tenor sax and one baritone sax player all have extensive musical histories, touring with some of the top Latin and rhythm and blues bands throughout North America.

Adding an equally formidable rhythm section was a key ingredient to their recipe. The result of this fusion of musicians is a sizzling wall of sound that has roots in jazz, soul, funk, blues and Latin music. The Shelltown Horns present a unique soulful, sophisticated style of music whose origins came from the Latino Barrio of San Diego known as "Shelltown."
