Boston native, Roz Browne realized she was born to pursue
a comedy career when at the tender age of three, her mother
told her "I should wash your mouth out with soap."
Since then she has been making people laugh without the aid
of soap products. Roz grew up in a middle class family and
in a predominately white neighborhood. On the advice of a
high school teacher, she became a CPA. Her teacher said "you
can make a lot of money as a CPA." She found out later
that the teacher was just kidding. After obtaining her bachelors
degree from the University of Southern California, Roz decided
to stay in Los Angeles. On a dare from an acting coach, she
hit the stage at a local comedy club and hasn't come down
since.
Regularly traveling throughout the country, touring concert
venues, colleges, clubs and abroad as a USO featured entertainer,
she has developed her unique niche in the comedy scene. When
not on stage, Roz is busy working on her One Woman Show, tentatively
called "Fried Clams with Bellies." Full of quick
witted humor, Bostonian charm and wonderful deadpan expressions,
Roz has been winning audiences over from coast to coast. She
will have you in stitches as she discusses Black Bostonian
life, married life and just plain old life. With great timing,
excellent improvising and superb acting skills, Roz is well
on her way to becoming one of the most talked-about comedians
in the 21st century.
