If Ray Romano and Roseanne Barr had a baby, she would grow
up to be Stephanie Blum. A Brooklyn native and former school
psychologist, she became addicted to comedy after winning
New York's Funniest Teacher contest in 1996.
Stephanie took first-prize in the 2002 Ladies of Laughter
Funniest Female competition at Madison Square Garden. (Nine
minute tape is included in press kit.) She was then chosen
by HBO's US Comedy Arts Festival to be their 2003 "Breakout
Performer." Then, on April 30, 2003, Stephanie won Star
Search on CBS-TV. Most recently, she was invited to perform
at the Mohegan Sun Casino on Friday, June 27th, 2003.
Stephanie Blum is the 'apathetic mom next door' whose trademark
laziness and procrastination is sarcastic, hilarious and universally
adored by audiences. Star of Catskills- On-Broadway and Dean
of the Friars Club, Freddie Roman says, "She's spectacular...her
material is brilliant and original."
Stephanie has performed at Carolines, The Comic Strip, Stand
Up New York, Gotham Comedy Club, Governors and many others.
She was chosen for the Toyota Comedy Festival, Boston Comedy
Festival and the New England Comedy Festival. You may have
seen her recent appearance on FOX's Good Day NY.
